Kusch+Co can help airports welcome passengers with an ever-growing array of artistic features
Art cannot be overrated. It engages us, evokes emotions and reflections, and helps us reach beyond our everyday. Art refreshes our minds and inspires us. Unlike the old days, now art can be enjoyed in many public spaces, including airports.
To deliver exceptional experiences, modern airports are shaped with artistic design elements. Sculptural installations, curated local artwork and innovative architectural forms help transform waiting areas into dynamic cultural touchpoints. But there’s more: even the seating furniture can be art in its own right.

Unconventional, intriguing and exceptionally comfortable – meet the Colani collection from Kusch+Co. Blending a modern aesthetic with its design roots from 1968, the iconic Colani collection is characterized by its ergonomic design and exceptional level of comfort.
The iconic Colani collection comprises an armchair and chaise longue – both of which captivate with their unique organic shape. This extraordinary collection was never intended for airports – yet it continues to become a highlight at more and more each year. Gaining worldwide recognition, the Colani collection serves passengers at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in France and Germany’s Berlin Brandenburg Airport, and will soon welcome them at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Colani collection has been a welcome addition to airport spaces for years, but increasingly it is becoming their main feature. Its distinctive look creates a calming effect from first sight, as a result of its harmonious shapes and wellconsidered color scheme. The promise of comfort tempts passengers to sit, lie down, relax and linger – with seating this comfortable, the waiting time is never too long.
KAIA’s holdrooms were given a completely new look and feel thanks to the Colani collection. Installed in several waiting areas, Colani armchairs and chaise longues give each space a unique look. Each of them is there to enhance the experience of all passengers and set the tone for the journey ahead.

The collection was designed by Prof. Luigi Colani, a visionary designer whose work merged art, science and innovation. Trained in sculpture, painting and aerodynamics, he brought an unmistakable biomorphic language to everything he touched – from cars to furniture. In the late 1960s, Colani collaborated with Kusch+Co, creating the iconic Colani collection – distinctive for its organic, aerodynamic shapes that redefined the idea of comfort and form.
